Video of my scene. Total polycount- 75,817 polys with 1k textures
This is my top down mobile project that I did at uni. I had 6 weeks to complete the project, and my poly limit was 300,000 tris. At the end of my project, I ended up with 75,817 polys within the scene, which is less than a third of the max poly count we can use.
I chose a steel factory for my project, because a lot of the assets would be easy to model, and it was a good opportunity for modularity. All of the assets have a max texture size of 1024 x 1024.
For the liquid metal I used an emissive material to give a sense of heat, and used a rotate node to make them spin. I also used the niagra particle system in Unreal Engine 5, to create the smoke effect for the steel degassers.
I also used as a blueprint, for one of he lights, to provide a flickering effect to the level, when the player goes under the light.
